On November 21, 2021, the 49th Annual American Music Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. That night, the likes of BTS, Coldplay, Bad Bunny and more gave great performances. However, it was old-school Boy Bands New Edition and New Kids on the Block that stole the show. Together, they performed hit songs “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “Step by Step,” “Mr. Telephone Man,” “Candy Girl” and more.
BTS–the current “it” boy band, was seen in the crowd–dancing along to the performance. Although, they did not seem to know much of the lyrics to the songs. Never-the-less, it added to this iconic moment. New Kids on the Block and New Edition will go down in history as two of the greatest Boy Bands on all time.
From 1984 to 1994, New Kids on the Block dominated the charts. Paving the way for boy bands such as NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and B2k. The group had number #1 hits such as “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” “Step by Step” and more. The band disbanded by 1994, but it would not be the last we heard from them.
In 2008, the band reunited. The years that followed, there were numerous tours and new music. They certainly were not boys anymore. They were men, whom got sexier with age. Here are some of our favorite Shirtless pictures from New Kids on the Block (2008–present):
