Over a month has passed since the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, and what an amazing show it was. Like with any award show, the red carpet is a show in itself. With the MTV Video Awards, celebrities usually get the opportunity to wear the most outrageous outfits. For the men, it has been an opportunity to flash their abs. In most instances–not fully shirtless–but just an open shirt (or jacket). This year, we got abtastic red carpet moments from the likes of Troye Sivan, The Kid Laroi and Jaden Hossler (jxdn). They followed years of tradition, of male celebs flashing their six-pack on the MTV Video Music Awards Red carpet. Here are some of our favorite moments…
The Kid Laroi
2021 was huge for The Kid Laroi. The Pop Star landed his first #1 Song and Album (Mixtape). And better yet, he got to open the MTV Video Music Awards–along with Justin Bieber–performing his #1 hit; “Stay.” The 18 year old did not hold back with sex appeal on the red carpet… There was tons of crotch grabbing in his posing for photographers. He knows how to grab our attention.
Dave Navarro
Dave Navarro is one of the sexiest men in the history of music. At the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, he reminded us of that. He opened up his red and white shirt for photographers to take photos of his ripped abs, as he strutted across the red carpet. We miss seeing Dave grace the red carpets. He never disappoints.
Lenny Kravitz
Speaking of the sexiest men in music history. Lenny Kravitz is undoubtedly one of them. He is no stranger to showing skin at the VMAs, but at the 2019 awards, he was the definition of Zaddy. At 55 years, his abs where still rock hard, on display for photographers. That year he was nominated for “Best Rock” video for “Low.”
Ty Dolla Sign, Desiigner and G-Eazy
Rappers Ty Dolla Sign, Desiigner and G-Eazy were definitely abtastic at the 2016 MTV VMAs. They were all featured in the GQ article “No One At The MTV VMAs 2016 Knows How Shirts Work,” for their lack of clothes that year. And while we are on the subject of rappers, LL Cool J would have to be included…
LL Cool J, without a doubt, paved the way for Rappers to be sex symbols in the music industry.
